SHOULD YOU USE A STABILIZER ON YOUR BLADERUNNER BOW?

The BLADERUNNER ISO-FORCE is one of the most shock and vibration free bows that you will ever own. From the very first arrow that you launch from a BLADERUNNER, you will be amazed at how steady the bow sits in your hand and how smooth the shot sequence feels.

One of the obvious reasons for this is the BLADERUNNER’S dramatically parallel limb geometry that eliminates forward limb motion and aids in cancelling vibrations. But, this feature alone is not the only reason for the BLADERUNNER’S lack of hand shock and vibration. No doubt many of you have shot “parallel limb” bows that will virtually rattle your teeth and literally try to jump out of your hand. So, obviously, there must be other factors that contribute to hand shock and vibration.

One of these factors relates to the mass weight of the bow. We are all aware of the current trend toward ultra-light bows. The obvious advantage to an ultra-light bow is that it is easier to carry when hunting. But a very light bow, particularly one that stores high levels of energy, will magnify the slightest shock and vibration to the hand dramatically. The heavier the bow, the more shock and vibration free and more stable the bow will be. The BLADERUNNER is not a lightweight bow. In fact, at 4.9 lbs. it is one of the heavier bows on the market. But this mass weight, along with a unique geometry that is rock steady on launch, will make you a more accurate shot and a more proficient hunter. At BLADERUNNER ARCHERY we feel that this is more important than having an ultra-light bow. I have often wondered how some folks will not say a word about hauling a nine pound rifle to and from their stand, but insist that a bow that weighs over four pounds is too heavy to carry, even if it means hunting with a less stable bow. Go figure.

Another reason for the unique stability and vibration free performance found in the BLADERUNNER bow is that we have eliminated problems such as riser bending and torque along with limb twist, wheel lean, uneven nock travel, as well as unbalanced limb, bowstring and cable loads. All of these conditions contribute to dynamic shock and vibration. By eliminating these aspects as well, the BLADERUNNER design virtually eliminates all of the reasons that shock occurs.

So, should you install a stabilizer on your BLADERUNNER bow? Actually, the answer to this may be either yes or no. If the question is “Do I need a stabilizer in order to reduce and shock?” the answer is definitely no. However, although the BLADERUNNER is designed to provide exceptional in-hand balance when aiming at full draw, some folks have found that a short stabilizer attached to their BLADERUNNER provides an added degree of control and confidence when concentrating on the target. If you find this to be the case, then by all means use a stabilizer. After all, it’s all about the shot.

Our focus at BLADERUNNER ARCHERY is on helping you to be the most accurate archer and successful bowhunter possible. There are many great gadgets on the market that are intended to make it easier for you to master your bow; and, while we feel that the unique design of the BLADERUNNER ISO-FORCE has made many of these items unnecessary, we know that archery and bow hunting are sports that transcend the pure science and technology associated with equipment. There is an instinctive sense of what “feels good” and what will give you that little extra edge. We are confident that the BLADERUNNER will be the bow that does just that. We will always strive to provide whatever information that our ongoing research turns up with respect to the associated archery and bow hunting gear that produces the best results as well as any gear that might produce adverse results. Ultimately; however, it all comes down to what works best for you.
